Poor quality after importing WMV files

Hi all --

I'm trying to use Windows MM to edit video captured from the computer
screen (a software demo) using Windows Media Encoder. I import the WMV
file and the clip looks fine when previewed inside MM. But as soon as
I drag the clip to the storyboard, the quality looks terrible. The
resulting output movie's quality is terrible too. I've tried playing
with settings, thinking it was a problem with aspect ratio... but
nothing seems to work. My original movie is 1025x768 (1 pixel off of
4:3 should not cause this much degradation). Any ideas? Does MM just
have a limit on the quality of video it will import?

Have you tried using various options
when saving the video?

Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window to find the
various options.
