I am pleased to announce the release of v1.1 of my Polymorf3D screen saver.

The Polymorf3D screen saver displays a shiny colourful 3d shape that morphs
and transforms itself over the screen, with an array of rainbow colours in
the background.

This release adds the ability to apply textures to the spinning shape, both
to the skin of the object itself and also as a reflection. You can choose
from a series of textures that are built in to the screen saver, or browse
your hard drive for your own images.

Polymorf3D v1.1 is completely free and is available for download now from my
web site:

Screenshots and other information are available there too. Hope you like it!

Looks neat, but I'm always suspicious about screensavers that come
as a setup .exe program. Do you provide a simple zipped .scr
download somewhere?

Sorry for the paranoia :-)

I don't have a zipped version available, but I can make one up for you if
you'd prefer. Drop me an email (you can get my address from my website) and
I'll sort it out. I can assure you that the .exe installer is fine, but I
understand you don't know me so my word probably doesn't mean much to you.
:)

Personally I have to say, I think I'd be more distrustful of a raw .scr file
than of a .exe, due to the way .scr files were used to spread viruses a
little while ago without tripping virus checkers that looked for .exe files.
A .scr file is just an executable file that has been renamed to have a
different extension, after all.

Don't worry, in this case I'm quite confident, so I installed it
already :-)

I just have bad experiences with people downloading & installing
screensavers, just to end up with a bunch of malware on their
computers. Screensavers just seem to be one of the favorite vehicles
for evil software.

And the worst part: it's usually me who has to do the cleaning up
afterwards on these people's computers :-)

Kind regards,
Wald

Thank you for the update!
I had the 1.0 version installed, when you posted about it some years ago.
The new features are great!
