Hi

One of my PCs has suddenly started turning itself back on after I've closed
down.

And i do mean closed down, not hibernated. I click on Start, Turn off
computer, Turn Off - and it turns off.

It then stays off for varying times, but as soon as I turn around, it's back
again!

I haven't changed anything in the power settings

Where should I start looking?

I have now turned off at the mains - and it's stayed off, so I think I have
now ruled out poltergeists!!!

I have three PCs in a network - two hardwired and one wireless. All have Win
XP. It's the second hardwired one that has started doing this. They are all
behind a router and all have up to the minute MS updates, virus and spyware
protection.

Thanks

Answered in another group.

In the future - please cross-post if you feel your question is relevant in
more than one group.
It makes it simpler for you and those answering (since the same question
gets posted to multiple groups at the same time and most people replying
will answer you in all groups at the same time.)
You multi-posted - meaning you manually posted the same question in several
groups and even though it may be answered in one group - the other groups
may never receive an answer.

How would one cross-post?

Cross-Post -- Sending a single post to more than one newsgroup at the same
time.

Barry,

You are using Microsoft Outlook Express as your news reader. In the
simplest terms, the way you cross-post is the same way you send an email to
more than one person.. You put multiple newsgroups in the "Newsgroups"
entry area. You can simply click on the word "Newsgroups" next tot he area
in your composition window - and Outlook Express will list all of your
subscribed newsgroups.

About 1/2 way down.
