Policy to prevent burning to CDR

Is there a policy in a Windows 2000 Server environment and XP laptops using
Active Directory to prevent users from burning files onto the CDR but still
allow access to the drive to read CD's

Thanks

Why did you waste company money and obtain writable CD drives to only disable that
functionality ?

For your info, I didn't waste company money, I looked to purchase with CD
only, but I purchase only Toshiba and all there laptops in the business
series come with CDR so I didn't have a choice. But thanks for answering my
question!

Sam:

Then you should not have purchased Toshiba. The question then becomes why disable the CDR ?
So the user can't write to disk ? The user could still use a USB ZIP drive, USB Flash
drive, etc. You would now have to disable the USB port and FireWire (if the Toshiba has
it). Unless you disable those port, it would render your solution, of disabling the CDR
drive, a moot point.
