Policy question

Is there a way to "export" all of the possible policy settings in
Vista?

If I do a Start, Run gpedit.msc, I get the editor where I can change
all the policies on Vista. I realize that policies aren't in the Home
versions of Vista.

I really don't want to type in all the policies etc. I have a56 page
doucment for Windows XP.

thanks

If you're on a network, you can use the "Domain Policy" one in the
"Longhorn" Server Administrative Tools to do this )

Right now, I am on a Small Business Server 2003.

So how do I use / get this tool?

thanks

Start, Administrative Tools (might need to go into Control Panel first),
then Domain Group Policy or something of that effect. It's the same layout
as Group Policy, and as long as the recipient user/computer (depends on the
option set you choose in the policy MMC, either user or computer) are on the
same domain as the SBS 2003 machine, it should work.

You want to export all possible settings, or just to view the settings that
are configured?

I want to put all the possible settings in a Word/excel file for a
presentation. It took me the better part of 2 days typing in the 56
page outline of the XP Sp2 policies.

Well that's a problem. I do remember seeing a DLL some guy wrote that can
copy the path of any W2K/XP/2003 GPO setting, however on Vista that didn't
work.

You can use a screen OCR tool such as Snag It.
