PLZ!!! I need HELP!! Word 07.. Normal.dot?

I am coming from Word 2000... so please bear with my deceit of 2007. I NEED
to change what used to be called the Normal.dot in 2000 in 2007. Apparently,
it's called something else? tho' I can't seem to find where on my machine
the Normal.dot (now apparently called .dotx, tho' in a book that I have they
call it .dotm). I'm trying to follow the help (My machine has XP loaded),
and I can't find:

1. Where Word is loaded
2. Where the templates are hidden

I have been at this for nearly 2 hrs and and this is really beginning to
disgust me... I want my 2000 back! 2007 is slowing my machine to a snail's
pace... I sit here and wait and wait and wait!

What do you want to change that can't be done from within Word - where you
will have Normal.dotm loaded?

Although the User Interface has changed, Word 2007 works in basically the
same way as earlier versions. Normal.dotm is where Normal.dot always was
(and remains unless you have explicitly moved or deleted it). Your templates
are where they always were. The actual locations of all these things are
shown in (what used to be Tools > Options > File Locations) Office Button >
Word Options > Advanced (tab) > File Locations button right at the bottom.
