plug-in paranoia

I would like to download some plug-ins, but I've read that they are often
sources of malware. Is it safe to download plug-ins from "reputable"
websites, or am I just paranoid?

BTW, I run WinXP, SP2, NAV 2002, Spyware Blaster, Spybot, Adaware SE and the
free Zone Alarm.

Your input is appreciated.

Are plug-ins a secret? Are the websites?

Wes, I don't quite follow your drift. What are you trying to say?

I was asking for more info, if not secret. Even trusted sites can nail you
with what amounts to scumware.

Wes,

The website in question is mlb.com (Major League Baseball). The plug-ins
there enable my son to get "Game Day" clips and things of that nature.

Thanks for your continuing help.

Red Eagle,

Give it a shot. Baseball been berry, berry good to me. ;-)

Wes,

We installed the plug-in and there were no problems.

My son and I thank you very much.
