Our computer was upgraded from ME to XP about 1 year ago.
I have noticed that, after the computer is booted up,
there is a delay of about 4-5 minutes for normal fonts and
screens to appear when viewing email or surfing the web.
During the "lag," font sizes are over-large and
backgrounds are all white. After 4-5 mintues, a "Please
Wait" dialog box pops up, and then a weird noise chirps.
Then, the "normal" mode for IE and email is reestablished
and everything (fonts, backgrounds) looks normal.
Why does it do this? Is it an ME holdover? Our other
computer, which came with XP preloaded on it, has never
had this "lag-time" issue.
Thanks,
