Hello All,

When ever I switch on or reboot my DELL D620 laptop, I see a windows XP Prof
blue screen with message "Please Wait" and white dots progressing for few
minutes and then it automatically proceed to login screen. I'm not sure what
caused this issue. Can any help me resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Channa

Are you considering the progress bar your 'issue'?

Check with Dell's website for the latest drivers and possibly - a BIOS
update.
Scan your system for spyware/adware and do a full AV scan.

I Understand that system is performing scan disk. But my issue is it's re-
occurrence of that screen evertime I boot the laptop. I've already scanned
the system for spyware/adware and did a full AV scan and no issues were found.
I don't think this screen has got to do with system hardware (BIOS). This
screen is from the OS as I see Microsoft Windows XP Prof stamped on right
hand top corner of the screen.

What exactly is the problem? Just waiting?

"Please Wait" blue screen keeps occuring on every boot of the system. How to
over come this issue so that boot process doesn't halt at this screen?

I suspect you have installed some third party software to Change windows xp
appearance and themes.

You are right Chkdsk is running everytime I boot the machine. Is there any
resolution to stop this from occuring on every boot, as it is consuimng time
to load the OS.
Sounds like Chkdsk is running everytime the system is rebooted.

Check the hard disk drive with the hard disk drive manufacturer's
diagnostics to see if there may actually be a hardware issue.

Thank you. But I'm sorry to say that this method didn't work on Windows XP.
Even though I change the settings in registry as mentioned the link, system
automatically revoke the changes I made and I still see the that screen on
boot. Any other techniques that I can apply?

Hi Channa ,
Do you still i have this boot-up issue ? .. I'm not very sure
abt the exact reason behind it , but when i removed couple of unwanted exe
files from my PC ( i suspect , those are some viruses which got installed
into my PC from orkut ) , i came out of this problem .

Can you check the existence of following exe s in the system32 folder of
Windows
1).imglog.exe
2).orkutkut.exe

if they exists , then try to remove them/ related entries from following
places
1) system32 folder in windows
2) startup ( by using (MSCONFIG)
3) registry ( location - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows->CurrentVersion->Run .

Just give a try ...It may work out ..

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the tip. It worked on my machine. Now OS boots directly to
login screen without stopping on any screen . Thanks again!
