Please keep backups

Dear all,

I have a close friend who has started a business. He has two computers,
each holding business data. He has spent hundreds on new kit.

I asked him how he backed up and where his backups are. I received a blank
stare back. I did the usual 'how much is your data worth to you' speech.

Please, please keep backups. Time spent doing that is time in the bank. It
is not a chore. Even if you only keep data backups, not system ones, that's
better than nothing.

Just my rant.

Good rant Steve. One's data is more important than the hardware its sits on.

All businesses and home users *must* have a fail safe plan in place that includes a backup
methodoloy that is regurly implemented.

Agreed.
And if the IRS audits the business, PCs went south; hopefully has paper
trail. That could be real interesting and time consuming.
