I have two computers running Windows XP. One is wired and
the other is wireless. I am using a Linksys Wireless-G
Broadband Router and wireless-G nic card. Both computers
can see each other in network places, but when I try to
access one computer from the other and vice versa, I get
a message saying: \\COMPUTER2 (or) \\COMPUTER1 is not
accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this
network to find out if you have access permissions
Access is denied.
This is what I have done so far but to no avail:
I have disabled the firewalls for both norton and winxp.
I have taken my wireless nick out of the equation and
tried to run both of them through a completely wired
network. I have even gone so far as to completely
uninstall Norton internet Security and Antivirus to try
and pin-point the problem. I have also run network setup
numerous times. Quick note: I have just recently re-
installed Win XP on my one computer because I purchased
and installed a larger hard drive and have just finished
building the other computer (which is the wireless one)
last week. So I know these both of my rigs have a fresh
copy of windows xp on them. Any insight to this can be of
great help to us. I thank you for your time......George
