Please Help. WordArt and Autoshapes not working

I just upgraded from FrontPage 2000 to 2002. I have
Windows XP. I am a student and need to include WordArt in
my homework. I cannot get it to work. Its on the menu,
just not able to click it. (its greyed out). I
uninstalled both programs and re-installed them making
sure no features were left out. I added all the updates I
could find for Office 2002. Can anyone tell me what I'm
doing wrong. I can't even get the WordArt toolbar to work.

Also, the hyperlinks in the preview view do not work.
Shouldnt they? The hyperlinks work in a browser.

I would appreciate anyone's help.
