Please help - Title master greyed out

I add a title slide to my presentation but do not have the option of
accessing the title master (View menu, master, title master can't be
selected).

Is there a way to get this to be active?

I am using PowerPoint 2000.

Are you on a slide that uses the title autolayout before you launch view,
menu, master, title master in PPT 2000? If you are on a text and clip art
slide, etc. or bullete list you won't be able to access it.
