Please Help!! my monitor won't display!

booting up my computer and then turning on the monitor, there is nothing
displaying on my monitor. the power light next to the "on" button on the
monitor just keeps blinking. please help me. thanks in advance.

Check all the plugs and power cables. If they are all correctly inserted,
then either the video card has failed or the monitor has failed.

To be sure, borrow a mate's monitor and try it out. If their monitor works
then time to do some shopping.

If their monitor doesn't work, UNPLUG the computer from mains power and
open up the PC and if you have a plug in Video Card: try pulling it out and
reinserting it before powering back up. Again if no success then get a new
AGP card.

well, i tested it out with another computer monitor and it does the exact
same thing, so it can't be the monitor. well, the thing is, it worked fine
last night, but i had opened my norton antivirus and was curious as to see
what was in the "quarantined" area. i ended up deleting some, i suppose,
"backup" of files previously infected with viruses. next thing you know i
turn off comp for the night and wake up to turn it on and it doesn't
work...could this have attributed to the problem? could i have deleted an
important file?

Try turning on the monitor THEN booting the computer.
