Hi all
I was using 1280 x 1024 as the screen area for my monitor and everything fit just fine. I downloaded a wall paper for resolution 1024 x 768 and set it as my wall paper. The next time I started up the PC, I got this bar saying that the signal was not in range. Since I couldn't do anything, I restarted the machine. The next time it booted up, most of the screen had been moved up and to the right. I used the monitor settings to "move" the screen into normal position. When I logged in, I could only see a portion of the screen display. The only way I could see the rest of the display was by moving the mouse to the border of the screen and then the monitor display would shift and move along the desk top.
I was able to get the "Desktop" view to fit onto the monitor, but only at screen area at 800 x 600. Whenever I try to increase the screen area, I have the same problem where I have to scroll around the desktop in order to get to the start menu, quick start or any of the icons. The wall paper, which I've now changed back to the old one, has some of the image cut off at the top.
Is there anyone who can provide some words of wisdom on how I can fix it so that my screen comes back at the higher settings? Thank you very much in advance for help you can provide.
