Please help me

I am having a problem using wondow 98 and Office XP. When
I try to open an excel file by launching excel then going
File Open, My pc always freezes. However I can go into
windows explorer and click on the file and excel works
fine. How do I fix this?

There have been posts that describe problems using File|open--not freezes, just
doesn't work.

If that describes your problem, maybe it was the nimda virus:
