I'm sure how to find if i have the latest video/audio drivers. I have
recentlly had a new motherboard installed which is a Albatron. I have
installed on this computer Audio driver version 5.10.6160, DirectX version
Directx 9.0c, Audio Controller VIA (3059) AC97 Codec (ALC 655) ALL THIS BUT
NO SOUND. My speakers are built into an Optima CM 718TM monitor. I think it's
trying to emit sound but all i hear is like a buzz that gets louder when you
turn up the volume.
I have checked all cords are in the right place, for the speaker
connections. and that mute is not checked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou Rebecca

Have you tried plugging in other speakers/headphones in the place of the
ones built into your monitor?

Hi Shenan,
yes I tried to plug some external speakers in but still no sound came
through. I also have stereo speakers that I plugged in without the monitor
speakers plugged in but no sound came through AUX1 either.
I'm stumped but I'm sure it must be a driver issue, I just don't know what I
should be trying.
Thanks for helping Rebecca

Try pluggin in a different set of speakers. It seems like you have all
the drivers and software installed correctly so you should hear sounds.
Although, a loud buzz sometimes indicates that the GREEN plug isn't
seated in the GREEN hole in the back of the computer.

You say that you had a new motherboard installed? By whom? Did you hear
sounds when you got the computer back after having the work done? Have
you called the place that did the work for advice?

Good luck,
HJS

Hi,
Thanks for the assistance. I did try to plug in headphones and change it
from 2 input to headphones but still no sound. I to get a light ping sound
when I click on internet explorer or the likes. I also tried to plug my
stereo in but no sound came from it either.
When I put the computer in to get a new mother board I also changed my
monitor, which is a Optima CM 718TM.
The cords that come from the monitor are green and pink and they are in the
corresponding colors on the back of the tower.
I got the motherboard put in by a computer company, however I rang them for
assistance as yet.
Thankyou Rebecca
