System Restore Messed up my computer please help

I had just reformatted my hard drive and computer was working perfectly. I
attempted to set a system restore point and instead did a system restore.
When done the message said that the system was not changed and no restore
took place. However, my computer now only has 4 colors, I cannot change the
display size, it runs obscenely slow, no applications are showing on the
desktop etc. I tried to undo the system restore and it will not let me.
Essentially, by following the system restore in Microsoft to the letter I now
have a useless computer. i am attaching a DX Diag if that helps.

any ideas???

Hi, if you have your system CD's run a factory restore, it will return system
to condition as when new...down fall you lose everything that wasn't backed
up.
follow the instructions that came with the CD's and follow the on screen
directions.
I know it's a pain but since you had just reformatted the drive the 1st time
and then tried to create a restore point there was nothing to roll back to
and there was a kink somwhere in the reinstall...best thing i can think of do
the reinstall again from CD's. Hope this helps and if not there's alot of
great people here that may have better idea.
