hi every body i need your help, i have a website named
www.beachtoursegypt.com and two weeks ago the hosting company told me
that they will make some improvements to their servers and they did
changed the ip address and some other internal changes and since they
did these changes the FrontPage is not able to upload to my domain
location, i called them and asked them to do fix this problem and they
did reinstalled my acount again and some of the problems fixed but the
upload is not fixed yet and they told me that the problem is out of
their hands because they have no one familiar with FrontPage, but i
need to use FrontPage because am using some forms.

the error i get now is thsi when i try to Publish my changes,

Server error: The server extensions were unable to access the file
"www.beachtoursegypt.com.conf". Please check the file permissions.

i dont know whats this and they dont know whats the conf in the domain
name

Thanks for any help in advance

Well, if they made "improvements" and don't understand FP and the
extensions, and they can't help you with support, you should probably change
hosts.

We can't give you any answers based upon the info you provided.

so what other information should i provide you so that you can give me
some support
because i cant change this host company now because my domain is not
yet 6 month registered.
i also can tell you that i have another website hosted with this
company and its working fine http://www.mobidp.com the only difference
between these two accounts is that mobidp is medium package and the
beachtours is starter package thats it.

before the problem i specified at my first message there was a problem
in uploading that the FP refused to upload using http and gave me a
message that the FP extensions were not installed properly and then
changed from http to ftp and the upload started but not inside the
public_html folder it uploaded the files to the same place with the
public_html, does this make any sense or give you any hint about what
kind of problem am facing.

thanks for your help and thanks for your time

According to the below link the site does not have the FP Server Extensions
http://www.beachtoursegypt.com/_vti_inf.html
Have your host install or run a repair on the FP SE

yes i have told my host that the FP extensions are not working properly
so he uninstalled my whole host account and recreated it again and then
i tried to upload again but nothing changed so i asked him once more
and told him while trying to upload every error i get and he told me
that he changed some permissions and then when i tried to upload once
more nothing works and the error i get was
| Server error: The server extensions were unable to access the file
| "www.beachtoursegypt.com.conf". Please check the file permissions.

and now after your message i uninstalled the FP extensions from my
control panel (cpanel) and reinstalled them once more but also it
refuse to work and gives me the same error. also i checked the files on
my hosting space by accessing my account using the explorer ftp and
found all files of the FP extensions.

thank you

Thnak you Ronx,
i just want to know now if i told my host to recreate the account do
you think it will solve the problem or what do you think i should do
right now
because i tried to upload some files even using the FTP from the IE i
got a message of access denied.
*.conf files are Unix/Apache configuration files. Your host needs to
check the permissions on this file to enable the server and extensions
to access it.

sorry for asking once more, i know am a trouble maker but i really need
your help.
as said:
A good host should be able to sort out the current situation. However
it looks as if permissions are wrong everywhere, and a complete restart
may be the easiest solution for everyone.

i have asked the host to restart my account and he did, he recreated
the account from scratch as he told me, before i couldnt upload my
files even using the IE FTP but now i have uploaded my whole website
using the IE FTP, but i have got another problem which is when i
installed my FP extensions i found that the files have been added to my
public_html and then i tried to upload using my FP but i got the same
error message that

Server error: The server extensions were unable to access the file
"www.beachtoursegypt.com.conf". Please check the file permissions.

and i tried to upload using the FP but using ftp not http so that i
dont need the FP extensions but the problem is that the files uploaded
are saved to the same place with the public_html not inside the
public_html.

so if any one know the solution for this problem please help me, or if
any one faced a similar problem could tell me what he did in solving
this situation.

Thanks for your help in advance
Thanks for you Ronx for your help too

Sound like you need to switch to a web host that knows how to configure their servers for FTP and/or
FP Extensions.

The FP extensions are applied and configured for each web site individually.
