Please help - Inserting video clip with Powerpoint 2000 just shows black rectangle

Hello,

I have followed the instructions on how to insert a video clip into my
presentation but all I get is a black rectangle. Nothing I try makes
the video play. I am inserting a clip that has been saved from ULead
VideoStudio 8 (which saves my trimmed video clip as a .MPG file) into
Powerpoint 2000.

Please help!

Sounds like a codec issue. PPT does not use Windows Media Player, but an
older media player, so the video has to meet some strict criteria to work.
Try outputting from ULead as a .wmv as this has a narrower set of possible
codecs (an MPEG can be a vast variety of flavors - some will work, some will
not).
