please help (icons are HUGE!)

what happend was i switched on my computer and i logged on as me and the icons were HUGE like the ones on my desktop and on the menu half it wouldnt show up because the icons were so big and pop ups come up huge they dont even fit on the screen! i cant change it because i cant find how! some one please please help me! plus its making my computer run really slow and i really really really im worried because loads of things have been installed onto the computer too that i didnt agree to! HELP!
