Please Help! Global Catalog issues.

Andrew

We are getting errors: "Unable to establish connection with global
catalog".
I have two domain controllers on the domain, and they both have the
'Global Catalog' checkbox checked in NTDS.

Here is the output from dcdiag:

Event Category: None
Event ID: 13508

The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication
from BIGEARS to BIGKEV for c:\winnt\sysvol\domain using the DNS name
server.domain.com.au. FRS will keep retrying.
Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning.

[1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name server.domain.com.au
from this computer.
[2] FRS is not running on server.domain.com.au.
[3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica
has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers.

This event log message will appear once per connection, After the
problem is fixed you will see another event log message indicating
that the connection has been established.

ANY IDEAS??!?!??!?!

Burtsev Dmitry

I think problem in your DNS.

Try this:
Start -> Run-> CMD -> nslookup -> gc._msdcs.domain.com.au
You must see IP addresses of BIGKEV & BIGEARS.

Check NETLOGON and FRS services on BIGKEV
