PLEASE HELP!!! [COM+] Unhandled exception...

N

NiVo

I've sent this message on windowsxp.help_and_support, but i had no answer...

I would like to know why did this error occured during XP Pro installation,
at Com+ Setup.
The message told me about unhandled exception that occured during COM+
setup, i was installing Xp pro onto an empty partition. No other OS on
computer.
Current configuration is 3 partitions:
C: 14Go -> where i tried to install windows (system partition)
D: user datas partition
E: user datas partitions

Setup program tells me to watch at file Comsetup.log in %windir% directory,
but assuming installation aborted after com+ exception, OS is not correctly
installed, and i can't access to windows user interface, so i can't take a
look at this file.

The only code i could get is 'c0000005' which means, i think, it was an
unhandled exception.

So, i'd like to know what are com+ components, if i can install those
components after finishing xp installation, or if i can "manually" handle
this exception...

No other informations, excepting phone number of microsoft technical
support...
I've made a search on microsoft web sites, but i've found only results about
COM+ and Office setup.

PLEASE HELP !!!

Hi,

There are a couple of causes of the c0000005 unhandled exception error, the
most common is a creative sound card. Remove the card during setup, then use
the latest driver available from creative.com when you install it. Another
common cause is a printer being connected, the same fix applies. Basically,
the first thing you should do to resolve installation troubles is limit the
hardware to only the essentials.
