Laura

Hi, can somebody help me? For some reason, all of a
sudden I can't have more than 1 IE browser window open at
once. This includes pop-ups, if a pop-up comes up my main
screen shuts down, same with new window links and this
message screen. Can anyone please help me?

Hi Laura :)

Try the following and see if it helps. Also, follow through with the pest
removal programs below to clean the scumware on your system that is causing
your pop-ups.

Open More Than One Window - Courtesy of Venkatesh

Try these steps:
Open IE, tools, internet options.
Select Advanced tab and click the [restore defaults] button.
Later, select the Programs and click the [reset web settinngs] button.
Click OK.

also........................

Per LuckyStrike:
Be sure the "re-use windows for launching shortcuts" checkbox gets
un-checked in the IE options>Advanced tab>apply>OK out. Also, a link on a
given open web page will open in the same window. To avoid that, R-click,
and open in a new window, if that's what you'd prefer.

TO CLEAN YOUR SYSTEM:

It is likely you have parasites, spyware, adware, malware, or hijackware on
your system causing the problem, which your antivirus will not detect, as it
does not have the same definitions. Download and install, then you *MUST*
update the programs prior to running to be sure they have the latest
definitions, then run the programs below. They are free and very effective.
Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the
other may. It is important that you do all the steps and follow all
directions carefully:

You can go to the links below to check your system for parasites
http://aumha.org/a/noads.htm
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/parasite.htm

IMPORTANT:
Before trying to remove spyware, download a copy of LSPFIX from
the URL below - some malware may kill your internet connection when it is
removed, this program will enable you to regain your connection.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

It is important that you run the programs in the order that they are listed
here. The first three programs will clear your machine of all other items so
that you can have a clear HiJackThis Log for the experts to read and analyze
for you.

LuckyStrike

Hi there - ;-)

First the obvious Laura; go to Control Panel>IE Options>Advanced tab>
Browsing section> un-check box which says "re-use windows for launching
shortcuts">apply>OK out. If it was checked, then we're in good shape. Also,
when you click links on a given website, you might want to try a R-click on
the link>select open in a new window and see what happens.
If, on the other hand that is already unchecked, then it's a different
matter.

Possibly (Dare I say it?) a parasite of some sort. Then you must look here:

All of these programs must be installed, and checked for updates immediately
thereafter to ensure current definitions. With Ad-Aware you can generally
have it fix whatever it finds. The same for CWShredder. For SPYBOT S&D it is
a bit different. Have Spybot fix *ONLY* the items it will display which are
RED. For the moment *DO NOT* fix anything that is displayed as Black or
Green entries if any appear.

With HijackThis, seek help with the log created at scan from SpywareInfo
Forums. *Do not remove *ANYTHING* without assistance*. It is a very powerful
program and can render your PC in poor working order if you indiscriminately
start removing things.

Remember; this program is for an entirely different purpose, is for the most
stubborn malware, and is very dangerous if used improperly. You have been
warned.
