Norton system works doesn't appear in add/remove progs so how do I get rid

Does it have an unistall ulitity listed in programs folder? Otherwise, refer
to the documentation for removal, either by browsing the helps files in it,
or at symantec.com

If there is no reference to Norton in Add/Remove Programs, go to
Start/Programs and see if under Norton there is an uninstall option.
Otherwise something is very wrong and you may have to contact Norton.
You could also search for the correct version of "symclean" to remove
Norton if there is no uninstall option:
http://www.symantec.com/search/

Go to Symantec's web site and hunt down their 'rnav' and 'rnis' removal
tools. These are used in case the entry is missing from:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Thanks everybody, I will go with your suggestions. I will post back and let
you all know how I got on
