Please don't post an answer identical to one or quite often several
replies already posted DAYS before! I can undersand an occaisional
"mistake" of not reading all replies first (I've done that myself once
or twice) and propogation delays between servers of minutes or even an
hour or so, but DAYS later?

Sometimes I answer the same way as someone else simply because I
miss the fact that there had already been an answer, or just
hadn't downloaded the other answer yet. But other times I'll do
it on purpose because I wanted to say something similar, but in a
different way that stresses what I felt was an important point.
Still other times, I'll do it to confirm and add weight to a
particular point of view.

And I for one am not going to waste my time looking to see if it has
been answered - I get a post and (if I have an answer ready) answer it.
Duplication can have benefit - especially where there may be a contrary,
wrong answer posted as well. There are though one or two - one Peter
Hutchison comes to mind - who seem to post about a week on, as opposed
to hours on. But considering the amount of noise in this group it seems
to me that they do no harm, other than to themselves in wasting their
own time

Both of you present valid points.
