Playing DVD Movies

I recently installed Service Pack 2 for Windows XP Home,
but I am now unable to play any DVD Movies.

Install WinDVD or PowerDVD to play DVD Movies.
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD Movies if you havn't WinDVD or PowerDVD

That is not totally correct. WMP can play DVD movies natively read here

Cannot direct play. You must have a DVD-decipher and installed to play.

Correct. As soon as you install a third party DirectShow DVD decoder, WMP
will be able to play DVD's. WinDVD and PowerDVD both install those
decoders, thus enabling WMP to play DVD'.s
