Playing an IPOD on the PC without buying hardware

I have an Ipod Nano and I want to somehow play it thru my PC speakers. I
have no cash for a cradle or any other hardware you can buy to do this. Is
there a way to hook a cable up to the Microphone or do some other trick?
It's a laptop so there's no real sound card.

if the nano has normal headphone jack then yes speakers should just
plug in, pc speakers use 3.5mm plug, if its too big you'll need to chop
the plug off and buy the right size one (about 50c) and solder it on.
