Playing a .mov filetype i power point

I am trying to insert movie clips into my presentation. The filetypes are
..mov which are supported by powerpoint according to the help function. After
I insert the movie clip, it is displayed on the slide with a large
"www.jpeg.com" superimposed over it. However, the movie does not play when I
try to preview the slide or view the entire show; it just shows a blank white
box. I also saved the movie clip in the same directory in case linking was
an issue. How can I get it to play?

Ummm ... kinda rival companies.

Apple's QuickTime Movies (MOV files) can be converted using a handful of
programs on the web (Google MOV to WMV). this is probably the best way to
get them ready for insertion. However, if you are really bent on using the
MOV format, then use QuickTime to save the movie as a very old version of
QuickTime. Older versions of QuickTime are supported, but sometimes
playback can be somewhat finicky.
