Playback Streaming WMV Files from Web Server

I am using Microsoft Media Player 11 on the Windows XP. Before upgraded to
this version, I can playback streaming file of WMV or WMA types from Web
server without having to download it first to my local computer. The
protocol for this file playback is via HTTP. I had tried to set the buffer
time of the player setting to 1 sec, but it still has to download the file
first before play it back.

What's wrong on the player? Does anyone have any idea?
