playback not clear

Hi, I have downloaded Ulead MovieFactory 4 to trial. How do I figure out the
best settings/format to use when importing an image and saving to DVD so that
it gives me a clear picture when I play it with my DVD player. I am
importing from a Sony Handycam to a TDK DVD+RW 4.7GB 1-4x speed disc. I also
have a widescreen TV if that makes a difference to the format used. Any help
would be appreciated.

Are you asking for Movie Maker or for Ulead or for both?
For the best results import as an AVI file.
Save in Movie Maker as a DV-AVI file.
Import into Ulead Movie Factory and create your menu(s) as you see fit.
Now if the progress bar at the bottom of the screen is full then you need to
lower your mpeg settings if it isn't then leave it be and you should get a
nice clear picture. If you need to adjust the settings then click on the
little gear pic at the bottom of the screen (in Movie Factory) this is where
you access your project settings. Click on "Change mpeg settings" and lower
the quality setting by one setting (High -> Good -> Standard -> Long) look
again at the progress bar at the bottom and repeat if necessary. If you have
to use the standard or long settings to get the movie to fit then you will
be sacrificing some quality and may want to consider making the movie
shorter and trying again. Hope that helps.
