Plain text problems

When using Word with outlook, if I reply to or forward a plain text e-mail, it
gets converted to what looks like wingdings. You can change it to HTML and
get it back, but I want to know if there is some setting I can change to fix
this
 
Outlook>Tools>options>mail format>font>choose font for replies or select
always reply in same format, if available, or Always use my fonts. You should
post your version #, but each version has a similar setting somewhere.
