How can I get my XP computer to login to a Unix machine?
When I had Win98, enabling plain text passwords was the
answer. Is there a way around this in XP or do I need to
make a change to the Unix computer?

Thanks for the help

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkStation\Parameters

Look in the right pane for a value called EnablePlainTextPassword If it exists, double click it and set its value to 1. If it doesn't exist, right click in a blank area of the right pane, select New, DWord value and name it EnablePlainTextPassword. Set the value to 1.
