Pixel Shader Technology

Are there any AGP ATI video cards that support Pixel Shader 2.0 or greater
technology. This is in anticipation of Windows Vista Aero. Thanks

I had the same question just yesterday about my Radeon 9600 video cards.
They support "Smart Shader 2.0", which I ***THINK*** was ATI's early
name for Pixel Shader 2 (if anyone can confirm that, I'd appreciate it).

However, even if that is not the case, there are lots of AGP cards that
do support it.

In fact, when I ran the Microsoft "Vista Ready" analysis program, the
lack of Pixel Shader 2 was the only thing that my old ATI All-in-Wonder
8500 lacks to support Aero.

that's copy and paste:
Radeon X1600 Series excels with Shader Model 3.0, HDR and adaptive
anti-aliasing Radeon X1600's 90-nanometer process technology and
ultra-threaded architecture combine power and efficiency to optimized
support for Shader Model 3.0 and deliver new high dynamic range visual
effects, enhanced realism with adaptive anti-aliasing and lightening
fast performance in OpenGL and DirectX® 9 games.

And in this link you will find several ati card that support windows

:)

Actually I think even the dirt cheap x1300 (all x1000 series) support PS3.

Im tempted to upgrade but Ill wait for Vista and DX10 cards myself.

It'll be a considerable wait. Q1 2007 at the earliest, and quite a while
longer for DX10 games to appear.
