PivotTable - Sum and Count

As part of my PivotTable, in the Data field I have 2 columns, one for the Sum
of a value and one is for the count of another value. The PivotTable
displays what I want, each on a row, but I would like the currency sign to
appear on sum values but not of course on the count values.

I tried clicking on the Sum column in the data table and changing it to a
number using the PivotTable field option but it doesn't stay. Is this
possible to do?

To change the formatting of a pivot table field so it will stay formatted
when the data is refreshed, you must select & format that field in the table,
not the entire column in Excel.
- move the cursor upward over the heading of the Sum column in the pivot
table. As the cursor nears the top of the heading, it will change to a
downward-pointing arrow. When this happens, click the left mouse button to
select the Sum field.
- when the Sum field is selected, move the cursor anywhere over it and
right-click.
- select Format Cells from the menu that pops up, and apply the desired
formatting.

Hope this helps,

Hutch
