Pivot Tables

I have created a pivot table (my first!), in the table I have two column
headings but numerous criteria in the data drop down list. When I
select or de-select any of the column headings it works fine but When
for instance I deselect Ages > 12 in the data list it then dissappears
from the list. Is there anyway I can set it so I can de-select fields
but still have them available for selection later on?

Please help.
 
If you uncheck an item in the data dropdown, you'll have to drag it back
into the pivot table layout when you want to see it again. There's no
way to keep the unchecked item in the dropdown list.
