pivot table formula function disappeared from excel 2000 in excel

Does anybody know how to get around this missing feature that was a great
feature in excel 2000 and has disappeared from Excel 2002?

should be there in the menu 'Data - Pivot table'

The formula option is still there, it's an option on the pivot table
toolbar. (This should appear when you have a pivot table in the workbook. If
not right click on any toolbar and select it from the list.
