Pivot Table Error: Cannot group that selection

Hello

I'm trying to group invoice dates in a pivot table by
month and year. Too bad there is no "reason" button? heheh

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

You'll see that message if there are text entries or blank cells in the
column of dates.
 
Thankyou... but I've checked that all dates are numeric
and there are no blanks in the dates column.

BTW I've since noticed other postings with the same
problem in Excel 2000. There doesn't seem to be a solution
so far though.

Is your source an Excel list?
Did you include any blanks at the end of the list, accidentally, or
intentionally?
How did you check that all the dates are numeric?
 
I've found that if there are any blanks in the source
data, then you get that notice.
