pivot table error after creating query expressions

I posted this message in the New Users section this morning, but didn't get a
response. I'm not sure how this site is set up and if someone else might see
this and take a stab at it if I post it in the query section. At any rate,
my problem follows:

I have successfully (I think) created expressions in the design view of a
query. I get an error, however, when I try to create a pivot table that uses
these new expressions. In the "layout" step of the pivot table wizard, I get
a message that says "Problem Obtaining Data". (I'm able to create pivot
tables without a problem when I pull data from fields from the original
table.) I believe I am using Access 2000.

Pivot tables are kinda voodoo magic, to me at least. The best I can say is
compact and repair your database. You can post your SQL here, and maybe
someone can spot an issue.
