Pivot Chart Dual Category Axis not Preserving Formatting

I previously wrote but don't think I was clear enough with the issue I am
encountering. Hoping I can explain it better so someone can help me out. I
have put together a Pivot Chart based upon a Pivot Table. The Pivot Table
will have data entered monthly and the problem I am having is that the Pivot
Chart is a dual category axis and when I update with new information and
refresh, it changes to a single axis and I have to reformat all the
information. Does this mean I am not able to use the dual axis chart without
having to reformat every time? Also, I have some drop down boxes to show,
e.g., just a certain month's data and that does not work anymore. Hope
someone can help. I want to be able to present this Pivot Chart and click on
the drop down boxes to present different parts of the data.
Your input/direction is much appreciated. The good news is spring is 39
days away!

Hi,

In 2003 I have no problem with a dual category axis. When I refresh it it
remains a dual axis.

With regard to the formatting, what formatting are you doing, that isn't
retained?

What version of Excel are you using?

When you say you have a drop down box to pick certain periods, you mean the
pivot chart filters? Or have you added some custom drop downs? Mine work
just fine.

Hi Shane, I use 2003. The formatting consist of dual axis, changing data
series colors and fonts. And I guess it is pivot chart filters..this is my
first pivot table/chart. It looks awesome with the dual axis which shows
total number and total percentage of data but I cannot get it to stay the
same when I add more data. Maybe I should start over...??? Thank you.
