My friends computer has a strange problem with the pitch of voices.
For example, if I play a track from YouTube, the pitch of the voice is
raised so that the singer sounds like one of the Chipmunks.
Is this easily resolveable?

Can't help, but can understand. We have two Dells in our office and they
sound out the XP 'bings and bongs' at a slightly different pitch. They have
the same base unit model (one is a faster processor and more RAM) and same
speakers. We have never figured this out yet, so I'll be watching this
thread
