ping fail on DELL PCs

Hi,

Dell is giving me heart burn. Can't get an answer on this from them...

I have two DELL PCs with WinXP SP2 connected using the Linksys Wireless
Router in the same subnet. Both got IP from that same DHCP and their
Windows Firewall are disabled. They can't ping each other, but, can
ping cnn.com or reach msn.com via IE.

I have a third home grown WinXP with SP2. Both DELL PCs can ping to it.

How can I get the DELL PCs to ping each other.

Output from ipconfig and traceroute

One thing does look wierd, your trace to your router should only be 1
hop (your PC to the router) instead you have 2 hops, 1 to your external
IP then to your router, how do you have your computers and internet
modem hooked up.

You've got sharp eyes. I notice the result from tracert, too. :)

The Cable Modem is connect to the router. The PC gets its IP from the
router, which is what I think it is getting the IP from...

Hello,

This could be a network configuration problem or a router
configuration problem. Checkthe router DHCP tables and verify that each
computer gets its address from the router.. Make sure that your PC's
are connected to the router and not the cable modem.

If all looks good verify all of your IPS settings (IP, DNS, Default
Gateway) by using IPconfig /all
