Hope you can help.
WinXP SP2. When using Start\Turnoffcomp\Shutdown everything works normally.
if however I use Start\Turnoffcomp\Restart, my computer doesn`t Restart, it
shuts down. Any thoughts, or ideas on this problem. TIA.
best wishes..OJ

I don't think you should confine yourself to MVP's. There are many
talented and knowledgeable people who help out in this group who are
not MVP's. Why narrow down your chances of getting a good answer? I've
changed your subject line to a more useful one.

Here are some links that may help.

This edit allows you to configure Windows so that you receive verbose
startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff status messages. This may be
helpful in troubleshooting slow startup, shutdown, logon, or logoff
behavior.

Use the command Shutdown -r to restart. "Restart" is not a native
command in XP. I presume you are referring to .bat or .cmd file?

For full list of cmd line swiches for shutdown open a cmd window and
type in shutdown /?

:) In the case of many of us it doesn't really matter, if I know or can
find a good answer I ignore the request for MVP response and reply anyway.
