Pin header to Paralled, pin header to serial and pin header to USBadaptor questions

Hi,

I've bought a motherboard that comes with pin headers for parallel and serial
ports but no adaptors to take them out to the pc backplate. Can anyone tell me
where I can obtain cables that plug into the headers and have pc backplate
mounts to get them to the outside world ?

I also wish to run a boot loader from a thumb type USB flash drive and I would
like to mount this internally to the PC. The PC does have some spare internal
USB ports but these are also the pin header type. Ideally I'd like an adaptor
that plugs into the pin header and has a standard USB socket on top so I can
plug my flash drive into that and have it safely mounted inside the PC, does
anyone here know where I can get such a thing ?

Thanks,

There are two wiring standards for serial ports. The first example
is "AT-Everex", and the second is "DTK". Asus uses AT-Everex wiring
for their serial headers.

This one is an Everex as well.

This is an example of a 2x13 ribbon cable (IDC) to DB25 printer port.
Apparently there was a PLATE25F, which seems to be discontinued, and not
the part number is PLATE25FB.

The Asus Estore used to carry a 26 pin IDC ribbon to DB25 ( 14-G000003901 ), but
it looks like it was discontinued. $15

It was used on the M2N-SLI Deluxe.

If you download the M2N-SLI Deluxe manual, you can find an example of the
2x13 header pinout (how the motherboard end is wired). The pinout on the
DB-25 end is shown here.

For USB, you could try a place like frontx.com . The first item converts
a 2x5 USB header, to two standard USB connectors. For USB2, there should
be as little "loose wire" showing as possible. The wire is supposed to be
shielded on the outside.

More internal ports are shown here.
