I'm looking for a simple program that would be used for making pie-charts
for analysis purposes. Emphasis on simple and easy to use. I don't know
what options are out there. In the past, I've used spreadsheets, but can I
do it without the intermediate step of creating a spreadsheet? A no-
install would be ideal.

I think this will work for you:

I absolutely agree with eschuyler.
TeeChartOffice is a really cool piece of freeware.

I agree. It's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks guys.

Looks like a good one all right. However, I don't understand why they
made the help file a separate download. I downloaded both zip files,
unzipped the two files in the help file zip and added them to the main
program zip file, since the program doesn't require installing anyway.

They probably separated the two for those who don´t have a broadband
connection.

Uncas,
True, and that occured to me after I posted. However the combined
size of the zip file is only about 2.5 mb. When I had a dialup (best I
could ever get was about 42 kbs), downloading such file sizes never
bothered me. Other people's MMV though.

Steema has a newsgroup, also. I am suspicious that it (Tee Chart) may have
a backdoor in it somehow. Sometimes when I post (when I had downloaded the
ng, or rather subscribed to the ng in OE6), and during the same period, I
would look up and see Steema in my "To" field as if it (my post) was being
re-directed. I unsubscribed to the newsgroup and don't use Tee Chart much
now.

Do you still see the email address addition in any of your posts or
email? I downloaded the program and have neither unzipped it nor
attempted to use it because there was something in the back of my mind
about it that didn't sit right. My "spidey" sense was tingling. Your
post tends to further such suspicions. Has anybody else noticed anything
suspicious about this program? It wouldn't take much any such program to
surreptitiously modify a system file or setting.

No, John, I don't. But understand that its appearance in the "To" field
was not an "addition". It was an "Only". What I mean is, for example, if I
tried to post to this newsgroup,, instead of alt.comp.freeware appearing in
the "To" field where I typed it. the steema group would be there instead all
alone and alt.comp.freeware would not be there at all. I would then have to
change the "To" field back to alt.comp.freeware. It may happen again if I
use the program, it may not. It may only be that subscribing to their
newsgroup is the kicker. I put up with it for awhile and no harm came to my
"shit". I will still use the program until I find some info about
boo-boo-bad stuff about it. Certainty can't be beat!!

Hi Ellis_jay
TeeChartOffice has no backdoor nor any spyware or malware at all.
We provide complete source code of TeeChartOffice application inside
TeeChart component library. Most of the code is free an available with
the trial version of the "VCL" components.

Ellis,
I can't see why subscribing to a group would cause such a problem.
Perhaps somebody else has experienced this or could explain it? I don't
have Outlooke Express installed on my computer, so I don't know if the
problem would occur in my mail reader (Thunderbird.)
