Pictures Not Showing In Email

i've got a new laptop with IE 7 on and when i open my email, pictures that
people have sent me will not show up. All it shows is white boxes with a
cross in the corner saying the image number. any idea of how to fix this so i
can see them.

In Outlook Express, go to the Tools menu and choose Options.
Open the Security Tab and check to see if you have a check mark in:
Block picture ....... and Do not allow attachments ......

I dont use outlook express, i just log on to email using the internet. im
with ntl at the moment.
