pictures in email signature lose resolution

I have tried inserting JPG and TIF pictures in my Outlook 2003 email
signature, and they look great before I send them, but then have lost
resolution once received. Does anyone know how to keep the resolution high?

when you insert the image on word be sure is alittle bit more biger than you
want to apear in the receiver.
Example: if you want your image 3 x 1.5" you insert as 4 x 2.3"
and so on be sure the image is not to big with 300 kb after you save on
*.tif is enough.

Thanks for the quick response! I've already tried enlarging the image and
that helps. I'll look into the kb now.
