pictures from camera straight into access

Hello !!


i have a data base with a picture field for customers pictures! i want to
click in the field (or command button) which will open up the web cam and
allow me to take a picture directly into the pic field! is this possible!

Images should be stored outside of the DB. The DB should thne only store
the path or the link to the image.

You can do that with "twain source" capable camera which are getting less
and less popular.
These days, I image that you can hook the camera to the PC and treat the
storage on the camera as a USB portable storage and copy and delete the
picture from it.

There's also a new Image Acquisition API for Windows XP. I was working on a
similar project using the TWAIN Image Acquisition API but as Phil states
there are fewer and fewer cameras that support TWAIN. You can find out more

What camera do you use that are twain. I used the Kodak DC 210

We were using Logitech web cams. They were unsuitable for a couple of
reasons, though, like no auto focus.
