I have downloaded pictures online, and some of them are
showing up in the control panel/display/desktop. I want
to know how to delete them from the desktop options
without deleting them from my computer. Thank you.

By design, all images in your My Pictures folder
will be available in the Desktop Background list.

If you wish to remove your images from this list
all you have to do is move the images to a different
folder outside of the My Pictures folder. A New
Folder in My Documents...for example.

To move the contents of your My Pictures folder...
open the folder and go to...Edit / Select All...
In your "Picture Tasks" pane...choose "Move the
selected items"...

On your "Move Items" screen...choose or create
a new folder and left click the "Move " button.

I have noticed that if I exceed 100 images in My
Pictures the files no longer show in the Background
list. There may be a way to edit this number but I
don't know how.

Move them out of the "My Pictures" folder.
