pictures embedded in my received emails

I have outlook 2007 and I used to see the embedded pictures and now I cannot
unless I print preview, then I can see the whole email. I have gone to tools
to refine the way I receive, but that doesn't work either. Will installing
Windows 7 help this problem? It is a pain to keep doing the print preview to
view my emails.
